I'm a mixed-media acrylic painter from the Pacific Northwest who draws inspiration from the natural world. My work is mostly recognized for its vivid hues, lively patterns, and playful designs. Seasonal landscapes, animals, plants, and dwellings are some of my favorite topics to paint. I make unique paintings for gifts in collaboration with consumers, realtors, and interior designers. I paint in multiple steps, which is what distinguishes my approach. I paint my subjects on card stock utilizing intricate detail. After cutting them out, I paint the wood panel's background. I can locate the ideal spot to adhere them onto the picture to create a sense of curiosity, joy, and harmony thanks to this mixed media approach. I love working with customers and creating original artwork.
Laura attended the University of Portland in 1992, where she studied education and fine art. Combining these two passions, Laura currently teaches "sip and paint" lessons at the Burke Gilman Brewery and adult/kid art programs at Squirrelly Workshop in Seattle. She recently held two art exhibitions in Pioneer Square, one at Beneath the Streets and one at Locus Wines. She created the art docent program for Laurelhurst Elementary. Art brings people together, settles the soul and has a profound impact on people’s lives. Laura has participated and procured sponsorships for her local community art festivals. Her husband and 3 children are her toughest critics. Being a product of the Pacific NW, Laura and her family take full advantage of the great outdoors. If they are not skiing in the mountains in the winter, you will find them boating, biking and hiking in the summer. Laura’s creative abilities are charged by her interactions in nature, long road trips, conversations with people and time in her studio. She loves working with people, teaching art classes and creating custom orders for people. Follow me on Instagram for the most up to date events.
Happy Customers:
Nelson and Tiffany Jay-” Thanks to one of the most original Renaissance people I’ve yet had the pleasure to meet, Laura Wright, for putting her unique & colorful take on the family homestead on Fox Island, WA. Laura is a remarkable talented artist who creates original artwork, plus she knows a thing or two about adventure travel, skiing and road tripping…not to mention raising similarly impressive kids who haul ass on skis and contribute to the planet in positive ways.”
Happy Customers:
Jen King- “I have been admiring Laura’s work for years. Her paintings have a very distinct style and always have an array of color and design. I was thrilled to receive a custom painting for my 50th. I am still amazed at all the little details from the hidden heron, ripples in the waves, and my favorite part of the piece is how she captured my three daughters’ personalities. A true gift that I will cherish.”
Happy Customers:
Peggy Tribble- “What a wonderful experience it is to work with Laura. First of all, she is an accomplished artist with a very creative eye. And she is so easy and graceful in getting information to shape her vision. Finally, she doesn’t rush, but is very timely. What a gift she is!”
Frequently asked questions:
“I see something I like, but can you create it in my color palette or a different size?” Absolutely. If you have a specific size of painting in mind, I can paint it to work in your space.
“Can you paint people and pets into the painting?” Yes, send me photos and I can paint them onto card stock paper. Once I cut them out, we’ll place them perfectly on your painting.
“How do I get started if I have an idea of what I want you to paint?” Email me your idea and we can go from there. Usually, you would send me some pictures and I’d draw a sketch. Once we’d agree, I’d price it and start the background on the chosen size of wood panel. We’d be in communication along the way.
“Are your paintings ready to hang?” Yes, the wood panels are between 3/4” to 2” deep. I can either paint the sides black or keep the look of the birch wood. We can stain the sides any shade. Both options have a clean and modern look. A floating frame is also available for an additional charge.
“How much is each painting?” It depends on how many houses or subjects are painted. I am detail oriented and spend many hours on each piece. Pricing starts from 8”x10” $190, 9”x12” $290, 12” x 12” $390,11”x14“$490, 16” x 20”-$850. Each additional house or subject will increase costs. Other sizes are available.

“Can you make prints of my painting?” Yes, I take my paintings into a professional printing shop where they create beautiful Giclee prints for an additional charge.
“How do your painting parties work?” I usually charge $30-$40 per person depending on the size. All supplies and instruction are provided. I come to your business or home. It usually takes about 2-3 hours with set up. We can also meet at a studio for an additional charge.
